Hong Sun (He/Him)

CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Hong Sun (he/him), LICSW, is responsible for providing clinical supervision to MSW students and other LCSW therapists at BAGLY.

Hong Sun is a Korean American psychotherapist whose passion for social justice-oriented therapy is deeply rooted in his experience of coming to the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant, growing up as a queer immigrant, and witnessing the resilience of other marginalized folks through his work & personal experiences.

Over the years, he has worked in community health centers that primarily serve immigrants from Latin America. The powerful narratives told by these immigrants have taught him to prioritize challenging oppressive systems over changing people.

He strives to be eclectic in his therapy style that meets the client’s needs in a collaborative process. His experiences have been working with transitions and adjustments, depression, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, acculturative stressors, identity, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and other folks who may hold marginalized identities. He speaks four languages, including English, Spanish, Korean and Portuguese.
