Ben (he/they) is a biracial, non-binary queer man, originally from Tampa, FL. Ben joined the BAGLY team in Summer of 2021 and has been working within the LGBTQ+ community for over 7 years with a special focus on LGBTQ+ suicide prevention and preventative sexual and mental healthcare. Before joining BAGLY, Ben was the Vice President for PFLAG Wesley Chapel/Pasco and hosted a variety of LGTBQ+ youth support meetings, programs, and events for youth in their community. Ben’s education background is in mental health and psychology with a research focus on LGBTQ+ suicide prevention, where his efforts focused on advocacy for affirming and inclusive healthcare access and education for transgender people.

An area of special focus for Ben is honest, open, and inclusive sexual health education and advocacy, especially for LGBTQ+ youth. Ben approaches his work with a trauma informed mindset along with a drive to see LGBTQ+ youth thriving as their truest and healthiest selves.

In his free time, Ben spends time with his cat and his partner, plays video games, watches movies, and enjoys learning as much as he can about queer BIPOC History.
