Transgender Youth Summit
Since 2008, BAGLY and the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition work together to provide an opportunity for transgender youth to meet and connect with other transgender and gender variant youth and the larger transgender community. At the summit, we share ideas, learn about legal rights and health information, and participate in workshops and fun activities including: dance, gender identity groups, writing workshops, performance and drag exploration. Previous Summits have included performances/workshops by Kit Yan, Mesma, All The Kings Men, Johnny Blazes and more!! In order to attend the summit you must be 24 years old or younger, from Massachusetts/New England and identify with, or fall under, the label of ‘transgender’. Limited space is available for youth who do not identify as transgender/gender variant but are strongly connected to the trans youth community, such as a partner/friend/family member of a transperson. The summit also offers a parents track for parents/guardians of trasgender youth, in order to provide support, information, and networking opportunities. The Transgender Youth Summit is a free event but registration is required! Contact us for more information or to register.
As with all BAGLY youth events, the Transgender Youth Summit is free of drugs, alcohol, violence, weapons, pressure, sex and harassment. DO NOT drink or take drugs before coming to a BAGLY event. If we think that you are under the influence, if you are found to have snuck in drugs, alcohol, and/or weapons, or if you are found engaging in sex, violence or harassment you will be escorted out of the event – no debate!
BAGLY reserves the right to refuse admission to any person believed to be a threat to the overall safety or enjoyment of our event.
